| CALCRO09. Crop Circles by
Freddy Silva. They appear seemingly out of nowhere: one moment
a pristine field, the next a complex and mysterious design imprinted
in the nearly ripened wheat. The stalks are bent, laid in swirls and
patterns of mathematical preciscision and yet virtually undamaged.
Some designs demonstrate principles of geometry while others portray
ancient |
religious symbols. Skeptics tell us
they're hoaxes, but no one can fully explain how these patterns are
created with such speed and accuracy. Silva's photographs are paired
with information on this phenomenon from his book Secrets in the
Fields: The Science and Mysticism of Crop Circles. Even as guerilla,
