| CA116. Laughter
Unfurled. The first time his laughter unfurled its wings in
the wind, we knew that the world would never be the same. |
CA117. More
than a Princess. Are you a princess? I said & she said
I'm much more than a princess, but you don't have a name for it yet
here on earth. |
CA118. Mr.
Right. He loved her for almost everything she was & she
decided that was enough to let him stay for a very long time. |
CA119 No
More Secret. I will always remember the day the sun shone dark
on your hair & I forgot where we were & kissed you lightly
on the nose & suddenly there was no more secret. |
CA120. No
Regret. I sometimes wake in the early morning & listen
to the soft breathing of my children & I think to myself, this
is one thing I will never regret & I carry that quiet with me
all day long. |

| CA121. One
Child. I hope it will be said we taught them to stand tall
and proud, even in the face of history & the future was made new
for us all, one child at a time. |
CA122. Side
by Side. We sat side by side in the morning light & looked
at the future together. |
CA123. Stress
Management. I can imagine it working out perfectly, I said.
I can't she said & I said no wonder you're so stressed |
.CA125. Timing.
There are moments when I'm completely at peace, but it's usually before
my children wake up & they'll have none of that. |
CA126.
True Things. They came to sit & dangle their feet off the
edge of the world & after awhile they forgot everything but the
goo & true things they would do someday. |

| CA127. Unheard
Music. Don't you hear it? she asked & I shook my head no
& then she started to dance & suddenly there was music everywhere
& it went on for a very long time & when I finally found words
all I could say was thank you. |
CA128. Words
of Comfort. There are days I drop words of comfort on myself
like falling rain & remember it is enough to be taken care of
by my self. |
|
CA129.
The World Itself. When she held
out her arms, the world itself wrapped around me & held me tight. |
CA130. Yellow
Bathrobe. I finally settled on Buddhism, she said, but it's
more than just a fashion statement. I've always done some of my best
work in my bathrobe. |
